Get Ready for the New Era of Aviation – Starting in 2026

Insights

LYGG is leading the global transformation by bringing new services into the market using hybrid aircrafts from our partners like Ampaire and Electra.

Our recent partnership with Electra.aero, Inc. set the foundation, and now, with Ampaire, Inc, we’re bringing hybrid-electric technology to market in record time.

What does this mean in practice?

For LYGG

We’re adding up to 500 hybrid-electric aircraft to our operational fleet, enabling us to offer more efficient and sustainable flight connections for our customers, improved accessibility for regions, a profitable investment for our operators, and another cornerstone in our sustainability strategy.

For Our Customer

Utilizing hybrid-electric aircraft allows us to build connective flights with rather modest demand, especially in regional travel. From scheduled on-demand flights and one-time charters to expanded ride-sharing options, we’re enhancing flexibility in our offerings at more accessible price.

Together with our customers, we will save time, reduce costs, and lower emissions.

For Regions

Using hybrid-electric technology in our operational fleet enables sustainable and efficient connectivity to regional destinations without relying on subsidies for underused flights, as we operate on market terms.

We must remember the critical role of regional airports, today. Keeping these airports open is essential for supporting both passenger and cargo operations, not forgetting their role in the region’s vitality. Airports are a vital part of our infrastructure, just like roads and railways, yet their cost structure and importance often go unquestioned.

For Operators

We offer STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) converting kits to upgrade existing fleets with hybrid technology, prioritizing these aircraft for LYGG’s operations. Ampaire’s innovative solution reduces fuel consumption and maintenance costs, offering significant financial benefits. These savings make it economically feasible to use Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), despite its higher cost compared to traditional jet fuel.

Through our Hybrid-as-a-Service (HaaS) model, LYGG provides a financing solution for hybrid engine upgrades, ensuring guaranteed flight hours for operators. This approach minimizes financial risks, making operations more predictable and profitable over the long term.

For the Environment

The sustainability impact of the Ampaire partnership is clear: up to a 50 % reduction in emissions purely through efficiency gains, plus full compatibility with 100 % Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). And let’s not overlook the noise reduction—flying electric cuts noise significantly.

Electra’s short takeoff and landing capabilities combined with Ampaire’s efficiency-driven hybrid systems are key steps in fulfilling LYGG’s commitment to revolutionize regional aviation.

Ampaire

In November 2024, we launched a partnership with the U.S.-based technology company Ampaire, a leader in making hybrid-electric conversion kits for existing aircraft. With this technology, LYGG is set to convert up to 200 aircraft in our operational fleet, beginning with the 12-seater Cessna and scaling up to larger models.

Partnership press release

Electra

LYGG announced 2023 a partnership agreement worth over EUR 1 billion with hybrid manufacturer Electra.aero, Inc. The partnership will bring up to 300 hybrid-electric aircraft to LYGG’s operational fleet from 2028 onwards. Developed by Electra, eSTOL, an hybrid-electric aircraft designed for extremely short runways, needs only about 100 metres of surface to take off or land with 800 kilometers of range.
