LYGG has made a decision to extend its upcoming service for the Sundsvall-Stockholm route until at least February 2025, while simultaneously postponing the initial launch. The decision reflects LYGG’s commitment to maintaining connectivity in areas like Sundsvall-Timrå, where traditional airlines are unable to serve consistently.
Although the Sundsvall-Stockholm route was initially set to begin on November 4th, LYGG recognizes that many may not yet be fully aware of the service, which operates on a pre-booking basis.
LYGG’s CEO Roope Kekäläinen explains, “We understand that LYGG is a new operator in the region, and our tickets have only been on sale for a short period. Therefore, booking levels are lower than the previous volumes for this route. We want to give travelers more time for booking their tickets.”
In response, LYGG has postponed the start of the route while still extending its services, offering the region’s travelers more flexibility to plan ahead.
Flights Will Only Operate with Sufficient Number of Passengers
LYGG’s operations are confirmed two weeks prior to departure based on booking levels, so it is essential for travelers to book as early as possible. “It’s really simple: you start booking, we start flying,” Kekäläinen emphasizes. LYGG needs to see sufficient booking levels no later than two weeks before departure to ensure the flight will operate.
The Sundsvall-Stockholm route is a key part of LYGG’s mission to enhance connectivity for regions underserved by conventional airlines. With an extended service window and additional time for bookings, LYGG remains committed to ensuring the route’s success.
