LYGG Launches Direct Esbjerg-Stavanger Route in February 2026 to Serve North Sea Industries

Press Releases

LYGG will launch a direct flight connection between Esbjerg and Stavanger in February 2026. The initial schedule has been developed in close dialogue with local companies to ensure that flights align with industry crew rotation patterns and business travel demands.

“We are pleased that LYGG takes over the route between Esbjerg and Stavanger. Creating valuable connections is at the heart of our strategy, and this innovative company is a key catalyst. Stavanger has been an essential destination from Esbjerg over the last 28 years. Our goal is to ensure a reliable connectivity between these two major energy hubs in the North Sea,” says Susanne Kruse Sørensen, Airport Director, Esbjerg Airport.

“Together with our strategic partner Esbjerg Airport, we are establishing a connection tailor-made to meet and adopt to the travel needs of the North Sea region. Thanks to our first signed clients, the initial schedule is live and with further commitments, we will expand it as demand grows. Our model is built to scale with the region’s needs, “adds Roope Kekäläinen, the Founder of LYGG.

LYGG is a Regional Air Mobility Platform that Creates Connections Wherever Needed

LYGG’s business model pools the travel needs of multiple companies and matches it with experienced operators to deliver reliable, scalable service. Pooling the demand across the industry makes even small volumes matter, enabling strong and sustainable routes to be built.

“LYGG is not an airline. We work with multiple operators to be able to ensure a stable service from the route start. As the demand grows, we can quickly add frequencies, adjust aircraft size, and open new destinations,” Kekäläinen emphasizes.

“We want to build a long-term partnership based on a comprehensive range of offshore destinations in the region. We already identified other promising destinations for the future,” adds Kruse Sørensen.

Esbjerg as a Hub for LYGG’s North Sea Route

As a part of LYGG’s strategy to connect the North Sea cities, LYGG will continue building connections for Esbjerg. Future connections are planned to Emden, Groningen and Humberside, creating a multi-city link that reflects the way offshore projects are organized across borders.

“We see Esbjerg becoming the natural hub for our North Sea network. The industries served by the airport operate on a project basis and require a service that adapts to their needs. That’s exactly what LYGG is built for: to solve travel bottlenecks companies face today”, Kekäläinen explains.

“Our local business community needs proximity, flexibility, and reliability for their travel needs. LYGG provides a unique value-creating solution that answers these needs,” Kruse Sørensen underlines.

LYGG is currently engaging with companies to add frequencies to the Esbjerg–Stavanger schedule, making it even better aligned with the needs of local businesses. Bookings will open by the end of November ahead of the launch in February 2026.
