We are hiring – Operations Manager

News

Build the operations of a new regional air mobility concept from the ground up.

LYGG is changing how companies travel across the North Sea. Instead of waiting for airlines to open routes, we build air connections around what businesses actually need, pooling corporate demand from the energy and offshore sector into scheduled flights. Our Esbjerg–Groningen route is already flying, and more of the corridor is on the way with two new routes already announced and starting in October.

We’re now looking for an Operations Manager to own the operational side of that growth. This isn’t a role where you inherit a finished rulebook. You’ll write it.

What’s in it for you:

  • Real ownership from day one. You’ll lead operations, customer service and operational cost control end to end. Your decisions shape how LYGG runs.
  • Build something, don’t just maintain it. As an early-stage company, we need someone to design the processes, workflows and information flow that will carry us from one route to a network.
  • Direct impact you can see. Reliability, customer experience and margins are visible every week, and you’ll be the one moving them.
  • A seat close to the top. You’ll work directly with the CEO and management team, with a real voice in how the business develops.
  • Aviation and business in one role. You’ll use your operations expertise and also develop commercial and financial skills, from customer relationships to cost and margin management.
  • Grow with the company. As LYGG adds routes and customers, the operations function grows too, and so does your role.
  • An experienced network around you. You’ll work alongside established airline operating partners, airports and a board with deep aviation and business experience.

What you’ll do

  • Run daily operations together with our airline operating partners, making sure schedules, ground services and travel arrangements are coordinated and responsibilities are clear.
  • Own the customer experience. Be the person our corporate customers can rely on for clear answers and excellent care.
  • Handle changes and disruptions. Bring the right people together, weigh the options, make the call, keep customers informed proactively and see every issue through.
  • Manage partners. Work day to day with operators, airports, ground handlers and suppliers, and follow up on service and performance.
  • Keep costs and profitability on track. Prepare flight and trip cost estimates, compare actuals against budget, verify quotations and invoices, and find ways to improve margins and efficiency.
  • Keep information accurate across booking and operational systems and partners.
  • Build the operating model. Organise workflows, plan operational and customer-service coverage, and use service and cost data to fix recurring problems for good.

Who you are

  • You have solid hands-on experience in aviation operations and can manage operational situations independently.
  • You combine customer focus with commercial sense and find solutions that work both operationally and financially.
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, and stay calm, prioritise and decide well when plans change.
  • You’re analytical and comfortable with Excel, cost calculations and operational systems.
  • You’ve improved processes or taken responsibility for an operational function or team.
  • Your spoken and written English is excellent. Other languages are a plus.

Experience in flight dispatch or operations control, especially in airline, charter or business aviation, is a strong advantage.

You’re just as comfortable helping a customer, solving an operational issue with an airline partner and reviewing the costs behind a flight, and you’d enjoy doing all three in the same week.

Practical details

  • Location: Hybrid, Vantaa office / remote
  • Working pattern: Normal working hours, with shared on-call cover for disruptions
  • Reports to: CEO
  • Employment: Full-time, permanent
  • Start date: As soon as possible
