Unlocking Aviation’s Hidden Market: The Breadcrumb Cities

Insights

When we talk about breadcrumbs, we mean medium-sized cities without meaningful air connections. Municipalities with populations of 500,000–1,000,000, or even less.

On their own, these cities don’t attract traditional airlines. Demand looks too small.

But beneath the surface lies huge untapped potential.

Linking the Breadcrumbs Unlocks the Potential

The breakthrough comes when these cities are linked with other breadcrumbs. By connecting them into a network, their combined demand becomes not only viable, but powerful. In many cases, this “hidden market” is actually larger than the so-called main market.

Just like in any business, the winner is the one who collects the longest tail of breadcrumbs and turns it into a scalable business.

That is exactly what we are doing at LYGG”

We serve cities that traditional airlines overlook. We do it by combining multicity connections and amplifying the synergies of corporate client demand across regions.

Daily Connections for as Little as 200 Passengers

This “collecting the crumbs” strategy allows us to serve cities with as little as 200 passenger trips per month, while still providing daily connections. By linking city pairs into a network, each city can access multiple destinations daily.

Extending this logic further and connecting these cities with LYGG’s digital platform, smaller cities become mini hubs: 10+ destinations with as few as 1,000 passengers per month. By building this network, we are able to create true connectivity for the people in underserved regions.

We are starting from the North Sea region and building towards the central Europe city by city.

It’s about time to connect the regions!
