The first leg of the North Sea Route between Groningen and Norwich is now open for bookings. We are starting with Wednesday and Thursday flights every second week, backed on secured demand, not assumptions.
From here, we scale. More days and new North Sea connections are added when they are commercially ready, driven by real community need, not airline guesswork.
What does commercially ready mean?
Historically, airline schedules were shaped by volume, not by need. Unless you could move thousands of passengers every month, your input didn’t matter and even then, changes came months later.
We are here to change that.
At LYGG connectivity is no longer scaled by airline decisions. It’s scaled by community participation.
Even small volumes matter. They genuinely influence how schedules are built, and implementation can happen in days, not months.
In practice, an existing LYGG route can unlock an additional operational day with just 40 passengers per month. That means a small company traveling four times per month already represents roughly 10% of the volume needed.
Once the contractual threshold is reached, the new day is implemented immediately in the booking system.
Having some connections is always better than having none
Our approach helps routes form sooner and strengthen over time. Our routes are built to support the local community and become as frequent as the community needs: serving real, demonstrated demand from corporates in the region.
This also enables truly dynamic planning. When the local community needs more capacity, it can be added. If demand decreases, flights can be reduced without losing access altogether.
That’s how routes are able to exist, form, and grow.
This is what the future of regional air mobility looks like, and it has already started with Groningen–Norwich.
